…starts with the greeting and trying to be a pleasant atmosphere as you enter into our office. We try to make it comfortable and nice as you enter into the lobby of the office. That’s number one, just to make you feel at ease. And then we also, everybody that meets you, should have a smile on their face to make you feel more at ease and like, “We’re here to help you not to do anything else.” And then once we get you seated, some of the other techniques we use, it depends on the person, but we can employ, say, nitrous oxide. Some of our patients use that, which is safe and effective and you’re perfectly fine to drive home right afterwards. So, it doesn’t impair you and keep you from driving home. So, you don’t have to have a driver. And then other things, like I said, are alluded to is just being friendly. And then one of my biggest things that I do for patients is try to make sure they’re well informed of what we’re doing, when we’re doing it all along the way. Some patients prefer not to have those details and we certainly will accommodate that. But most people want to know what’s going on and what to expect.
Our Gentle Care Includes Sedation & Patient-Friendly Technology
Dental anxiety happens to lots of people, but the reasons they feel this way can vary widely. Learning ways to cope with those feelings often takes a variety of calming techniques. That is why we employ a multi-faceted approach to your care. During your visits with us, you can expect:
- Personal Attention – By getting to know you and your concerns, we can adjust our approach. This means a low-stress experience for you.
- Longer Appointments – Feeling rushed is not going to help you relax when you are sitting in a dentist’s chair. By requesting a longer appointment, you can feel comfortable knowing that you can request a break if you need one.
- Comfort Amenities – Blankets are available if you feel chilly while in our chair, and we can offer a pillow for additional support.
- Patient-Friendly Technology – We have invested in equipment that makes your visits more effective, efficient, and easy to handle. For instance, Spectra cavity detectors help find decay in its earliest stages with less poking and prodding. And we won’t have to put bulky paper in your mouth for digital X-rays.
- Laughing Gas – Though we numb your mouth with local anesthesia for any procedures where you might experience discomfort, you can also get laughing gas (nitrous oxide) if you want it. It is so safe that even your children can receive it. It works fast and wears off quickly. You’ll even be able to drive yourself home afterward.
