Before dentistry, I was a chemist and I decided that I wanted to be more hands-on with people and treat people. And I thought about dentistry, considered dentistry versus a career in medicine. I chose dentistry because I enjoyed the hands-on aspect, while delivering dental care and also because I’d had dental issues myself and I wanted to help people in ways that I thought I wasn’t being helped. So, that led me to the career path of dentistry. What I like most about dentistry, I still enjoy delivering care to people in a compassionate way and it makes me really happy when I deliver some treatment to a patient and I see how it can transform their life. Whether it’s the appearance of whatever restoration I do or if it’s just to get them out of pain and get them some relief.
