The calls I get on the weekend for dental emergencies come in all different forms, shapes, and sizes. The most common dental emergency that I get a call for after hours is for just an uncomfortable tooth. It’s more likely abscessing or it’s hurting for some reason. And then there are other emergencies, more traumatic injuries like boating injuries, sporting injuries, where a tooth gets knocked out, what we call the vaults. And then I do see those type of patients to get the tooth in place again, hopefully. And then we can still save the tooth even after it’s been completely knocked out if it’s done in a timely fashion in a way. There are other types of dental emergencies, you know, sometimes there I’ve received calls and a patient’s been hit with something and there’s been a fracture in one of the jaws. So, like I said, there’s a number of different ways and different types of emergencies, but we do handle those on the weekend to the best that we can and then those we can’t, you know, we try to help the patient get to the right place so they can get it taken care of.
